The H2o Mop Ultra steam floor cleaner is now improved with handheld steam cleaning capabilities.
Bookmark and Share

The Thane company's H2O Mop has now offers an upgrade in the form of the H2O Mop Ultra steam mop.  It sports a new red color and adds the ability to detach the hand-held steam cleaner for use to disinfect and clean.  The steam mop optionally comes with a caddy for storing the various cleaning attachments such as brushes.

This Ultra H2O mop is essentially the same as the original H2O Steam Mop, and can clean all of the same types of surfaces including hardwood, slate, tile, laminate, marble, etc.  It also has the glider attachment for carpeting as does the original H20 Mop.

This product does clean but it's extremely heavy accross the floor, and it took a very very long time for the floor to dry. For me, it took more than an hour for my hardwood floor. The mop itself is heavy as well. I would not reccommend this product to anyone.

I was seriously considering purchasing the H20 Ultra Steam mop since I have 1600 sq. feet of engineered hardwood floors. However, your review gave me pause for thought. Why do you think there are so many positive reviews? This website provided the only negatives I could find which indicate that the mop leaves hardwood floors wet!

Thank you for your taking the time to respond.

Karen-I have not used the mop, but I can say one thing about reviews. The internet is full of people paid to write them. People are paid to visit the forums and positively review products as well as write articles with a positive slant.

I recently purchased the H2O Mop and was disappointed with it. I thought it would make cleaning easier but it made my laminate floors really wet and I had to use my old mop after to dry it or it would leave water streaks. The whole idea is to use steam to clean the floors but using the steam makes the pad really wet, turn the steam off and all you clean with is water. It does not perform as it says. It made more work for me. I would not have bought it had I been aware.

I just got off the phone trying to get a warranty replacement for the mop I purchased in late November, 2009. I haven't even made my third and last payment of $33.00 yet and this company will not help me replace a broken mop handle that happened when I bumped the mop head against a table leg. I'm not a real power mopper, so I believe there was a flaw in the plastic on this mop, but Thane wants me to send $72.00 to get a new handle. Some warranty, right?? Please, if you are interested in a steamer-mop, don't buy this one. I know there are other ones out there that have to be better than this one.

I bought the Ultra about 2 months ago. It is only OK on my hardwood floors, good on the tile floors, great on grout and esoecially great on the barbecue grill, etc, stove top, and decent on oil spots on the driveway. I had no problem with Thane sending me a new unit including the water tank and filter. They were very polite and sent the replacemnet steamer at no EXTRA COST or shipping cost plus EXTENED the 30 day return policy. I do agree it is not what I had hoped for with my cherry wood hardwood floors so I just ordered the Haan Steam Mop and I hope this will work for the hardwood floors. I plan to keep the H20 because as I said for me it saves me a lot of time on the barbecue, grout, and my children's toy's. Again I had no problems with the company sending a replacement FREE OF EXTRA CHARGES.

on 1/26/10 I informed everyone I ordered the Haan Steam mop. Well I put it to the test on our cherry hardwood floors, tile and upholstery kitchen chairs. Very disappointed, the pads work for about a 5 x 5 area (hardwood) then gets real wet more than the H20 Ultra. The H20 dried faster to the same area and was cleaner based on white paper towels. So I am going to return it to Bath and Beyond and switch it out for the Shark pocket. I hope the Shark works on the hardwood floors with the purple duster. I 'll let you know. Hope this was helpful.

You do not have to hole the button in all the time while you mop. You just click it one time and start mopping. click it another time and it turns off.

That's what I was told my the manufacturer Linda, but my instructions say press and hold and if I don't then it stops steaming. It's not an on/off switch!! I'm beyond frustration with this product! As well as my tile floor being left saturated, I'm finding that the green light only stays on for approx 10 seconds at a time and I have to wait for it to get hot enough to press the trigger again!! ARGH!! Not happy...

Just got back from sending my Mop Ultra back for the low price of $38.85! I was impressed with the infomercial and really wanted this product to be the answer to some of my cleaning needs. It was not. I tried it in several areas, carpet, gas grill, stove top, windows, and it just didn't live up to my expectations delivered by the TV advertisement. The first area and primary reason for my purchase, I addressed our carpet dirt and stains. They faded some but didn't resolve. The attachments consists of these tiny attachments that are supposed to enhance the steam cleaner. Using these attachemtns, the next area I addressed was our gas grill. Household degreaser works better. Our Hot Tub cover covered with winter grime and pollen, I thought would have been a breeze-all too time consuming. A wet rag worked faster. Using the attachments is a slow process. Forget windows, the steamer drips too much and those puppy nose prints are still there! I tried the attachment for the shower door track. Again, not impressed. The whole experience was a let down. It cost a fortune to return too. I might add that the Kitchen floor and bathroom tile would benefit from this cleaner but I just couldn't justify the cost. The Mop Ultra in my opinion and experience is a "must not buy".

when will america learn that these as seen on tv products are a scam and joke? i volunteer @ a thrift store and all this JUNK is donated or ends up in the trash. ASK YOUR SELF: do you really have the $ to spend on junk like this? if the american people would simply STOP BUYING, then these companys would have no choice but to improve their product and just might lower prices!

Love the mop itself. Does a fab job but the handle snapped in 2. I called and I hadn't even had it a year, so it was still under warranty and they wanted 14.95 to replace the handle!!!!!! Walmart wouldn't take it back. Their policy is 30 days now. Never again.

What steam cleaner for floors would anyone suggest???
I exchanged a Shark steam cleaner for an H20 mop after the Shark handle broke in half. The Shark worked extremely well but was flimsley made and thought that before the handle broke. H20 does leave alot of water on floors. Now it no longer wishes to steam.
Again any suggestions on what brand I should purchase for ceramtic tile and hardwoods and not spend a fortune?

I liked this mop at first, it did leave water on the floor but so does a mop. My issue is all of a sudden this mop decided to start leaking where the cord goes into the product. Tried to call but had to wait forever on the phone. Then it told me they were closed 8:30 - 5 pm monday-friday. i guess i will be calling back on monday. Anyone know how long their warranty lasts?

H2o Mop ULTRA is a ULTRA SCAM

This product is a piece of S**T. First of all its heavy and it doesn't glide on the floor. Also the hand-held steamer is heavy and when you tilt it up, no water is coming out. Leaving my floor wet for 1-2 hours. The steam isn't really hot, as boiling point. Im returning this product and not buying anything i see on T.V ever again, learned my lesson.

Despite many negative reviews I read the day before and this morning I thought that if the product is still marketable and on the shelf I will buy it and I did. My roommate helped me put it together very delicately and carefully. It cleaned all my floors (vinyl tiles) fabulously. I was scared but it was working fine. Then I tried in on the carpet too. Beautiful results. After, I tried the handheld and it actually cleaned my mirrors excellently, but I was a little disappointed elsewhere. The buttons on my stove came clean and it seemed to improve the appearance of my kitchen and bathroom faucets, as well as the bathtub, bathtub tiles, toilets and sinks. One thing I know, they are certainly better disinfected than with any cleaning product I have in the house now. Although I think the handheld needs a cloth attachment to wipe while steaming. Today I am really happy with my purchase and hope from now on I can wake up to my floor cleaning day in alot more joyful frame of mind.

On second thought the next day my floor boards felt all spongy. The mop had left a big warp in the tile and floor board underneath on one spot where the mop had rested for a minute. Bare spots on the floor board were spongy and the wood damp and swelled. The machine actually worked but the cost would be too much. I took her back to the store and got a refund. The tiles had never been wet but the steam had injected into the wood underneath and caused it to swell. Good bye H20 Ultra or good bye house.

I have had my Thane H2O mop for over 3 years now and I love it. With the blue mop pad the floor drys as you mop. If you leave the mop in one place for 8 seconds it will sanitize that spot because it is putting out 1500 wats of steam, you need to keep moving the mop so you wont damage your floor. I have 7 Grandkids and wont mop my floors with anything else
