This is the worst product on the market. PLEASE READ the consumer report on it. I have 3 friends who have The UPS Stores here in Louisville, KY and they said that they get them being returned daily! I had a horrid time with them. I even bought the 1100 dollar motorized version. You have to "eat" the bottom. You can get your refund on the top that is a bunch of cheap low grade FOAM and the worst expensive mess I have ever seen. The air leaks, they will replace everything trying to get you to keep it. Once they see that it is really a mess and you do not want it, they will change their attitude and you may have to threaten them with legal actions. I have all of my paperwork now. They kept sending me more FOAM. You cannot sit on the edge of the bed. Listen, that bed is awful, you may wake up with the whole bed in a V. You lose about 4 inches on each side of the bed so it is smaller. I think that there should be way more case law suits over this bed. I had to really get tough to get my money back because they do not want to refund you your anything but the cost of actual bed - even tho they know that it is crap and way over priced. PLEASE READ THE CONSUMER REPORTS ON THIS BED. I actually had to print it off and send it to them - as I was threatening them with legal action.

Thank you for the report. I have a friend who bought one several years ago & recently had the same problem. although it's suppose to be warranted 20 yrs'??? Well I couldn't afford 4K or close to that on sale...but was contemplating on eventually buying because having fibromyalgia / spine problems the tryout actualy felt good -on the most expensive one. But after reading this review it gives me alot to think about. Thank you.

THERE IS NO SUCH THING AS REST OR SLEEP WITH THESE BEDS! I agree these beds are the worst on the market. During the trial period they seem to be just what one is looking for; however, about six months to a year, your sleepness nights become nightmares. My husband has soft tissue ripped off his spine from an injury along with several other back injuries. He cannot sleep in this bed for more than a couple of hours at a time; he alternates between this bed and his recliner just to make it through the night. I have had shoulder and jaw surgery. I get up with terrible headaches, neck pain, backaches, etc. after a few hours "trying" to sleep in this bed. I now sleep on the couch, with a lot less pain when I awake. IF YOU WANT TO FEEL LIKE YOU HAVE AGED TEN YEARS, THEN BUY THESE BEDS! We are looking at "regular Ol' beds" again....and plan to buy one as soon as the money comes in.
What a waste.

I bought one of these when I was pregnant. I had it for 2 years. It was sunk in the middle wehre the foam was between the 2 air chambers. I paid extra for the memory foam on top. The foam in the middle "ground" down the memory foam and my memory foam topper was dust in the center and sawed through on each side where the harder foam was. The topper was in 6 pieces when I took off the zip around pillow top (also extra). Also the pillow top fabric became frayed within a year and isn't covered under any warranty. They told me 450 for a new top. I told them I just wanted the zip around part and they said they don't sell them seperately and that you have to buy a whole new cover for the mattress. Also I woke up one morning and the mattresses were flat. Fortunately they blew up again and it didn't happen again. I threw it away. Huge amount of money for just 2.5 years of use. I finally bought a Comforpedic Natural with an adjustable (from a medical supply co) base. Even more expensive (5300.00) than my Sleep Number but I LOVE IT. That is the most comfortable mattress I have ever had. I have now had it for 3 years with no issues. It is wonderful when I am sick and want to sleep sitting up.

We have had our select comfort bed for 3 years and are not thrilled.
I like a firm bed but this thing inflates like a beach ball, I have to have it way softer than I would like. The number you program into it has no real relationship to your comfort level, it is different everytime you change and come back to it. It cost way more than a regular mattress too, another misleading statement. I am glad it is light weight so I can easily load it into the truck and take it to the dump. Rating: 1 out of 10 sleep number bed

Had a sleep number bed for a number of years. The foam sides began to break down on one side, so gave it away and bought a tempurpedic. Had it for 18 months and got rid of it. Most miserable mattress I have ever owned. Glad to say we are back on a new p6 sleep number and are extremely happy.
