I bought my first last yr.The handle keep falling over if you did not secure it in the up postion. Then it broke a piece of grey plastic broke from the motor.Tried calling and only got a person that did not speak english to well. Finally had to hang up.I did finally got a hold of a very nice lady here in the states by email. She did send me out a new one at no shipping charge which was great.I had to pay to ship the broken one back at only 20.cost to me.I recieved my new one a few months back.It did work better than the first.Handle no longer made the vac fall over but just 2 wks ago the same thing happened a piece of plastic againg broke.I do not abuse it at all.I can no longer jump thru the hoops. So last week I bought a oreck that is made in the us.It is a much better built vac.The Garry is not even close to it.

Do not buy. Piece of crap. No full refund. Selling $25.00 vacuum for $200.00. They refund only $149.00. Free bags???? for $9.99. No comparison to Oreck. If you could try it first, no one would ever purchase. A real farce. I hope I can save others from a very costly mistake.

I bought one on July 7,2009. I pay $326.47 it been broken for a few month, to day. I call Garry custom service they told me that it would cost me $50.00 to shipping the replacement. They told me that I would need to pay for shipping the broken vacuum to them. I din't see how you can love the Garry Vacuum. It Cost me all that money and it broken down little over two years

I was sucked into the infomercial even ordered extra bags and pads for the steam mop on the original order. Received the product today and found out that I was scammed in my opinion! The Garry has what seems like half the suction of my 1 1/2 year old Eureka Smart Vac that I purchased from Walmart for approx. $130.00. After deciding to return the vacuum and contacting Garry customer service I figured out how they get you. Now I am stuck with about a $100.00 bill for the shipping and handling they charged 29.95 shipping and handling for the steam mop, 39.95 for the shipping and handling for the vacuum and 10.00 for the additional bags (8) which have no value other than shipping and handling and however much it is going to cost me to ship this back to them, which I'm estimating to be no more than $20.00.
As far as the product goes, it is very simple designed, and would only be good for picking up cereal or large piles of dirt. It does not lift the material of my carpet and make it looked vacuumed the way my Eureka Smart Vac does!! In my opinion it seems more like an electric broom. it is light weight because it is made of hallow metals and thin plastics and has a small high rpm motor which makes a loud noise I can clearly hear over my other vacuum almost twice as loud. As for the bags, the hyproallergenic bags appear to be quite thinner than the arm and hammer replacement bags that I use in my Eureka!!! In my opinion the Garry should be compared to the shark stick vac or a similar product. BUYER BEWARE!!!!! PS.. not to be totally negatitive it may work for you if you have a high shagg carpet that the fibers pull out of easily! (The Garry has a gental cleaning) My opinion of the Garry Vacuum

My opinion of the Garry Vacuum is also that it is not anything like it was advertised to be. I wrote the company twice now about shipping it back and was now told that it came with only a 30 day money back guarantee. The adds all say that if you aren't pleased at ANY time it can be returned. I AM going to send mine back and if I don't receive a full refund as advertised the Better Business Bureau will know about it.

Mary,
this is a third party review of your product. something that companies don't like because they have NO control over what people say ("unlike the informercial"). Bottom line, quit acting like you "care," you guys are a SCAM. you win if they ship it back OR if they keep it. your "free" bags is a scam because everyone is not stupid that they are not "free". and your vacuum stinks! I sell for informercial callers and i would NEVER sell this product, i refuse to because it stinks! my opinion of the garry vacuum

I want to thank you for taaking the time to write this review. I have 2 Oreck vacuums--one is 12 years old---and they are still going strong.I was considering a Garry because I love the Oreck but my college age son took one (not with my permission but you know how that is)and I have a really big house so I spend half my time trying to locate one vac when I need to use it---so because I just wanted a second vac I didn't want to put out another 300$ for an Oreck. Anyway, the Garry SEEMED like an Oreck clone so I was just about to order it even tho I had a little niggle that it was too good to be true. So, because of your review I am not ordering. I will just keep hunting for the ORECK or break down and buy another proven winner! Thanks again!

You aks MARY ( if there really is such an entity ) to give a full name and get the wrath upon her from everyone who caved into their inner cheapness, and became a GARRY sucker.... yet you go by the name of "Unknown" Sounds like Mary and Unknown should go out for a coffee... who knows... might be a good NSA hookup.... but if it all goes wrong, remember that the date is subject to arbitration, Unknown gives up all rights of redress. This vacuum seems to be sold with the same formula as that edger/trimmer that has been yakkitty yakked on tv for a few years. "Free Cutter line for life..... just pay S&H" Garry Vacuum

I have to agree with most poster on this site. My wife wanted this unit after seeing the infomerical. So I said what the heck and bought one for her with all the freebies to go with it. Let's start with the wet mop. It leaked like a sive right out of the box. Oh, but it was "Free" just the $40 S&H. Which shipped in the same box as everything else. Now for the vaccuum: It seemed like it did a pretty decent job at first. As I have several parrots and am always vacuuming up bird seed. After about six months I turned on machine and it felt like the whole motor was coming apart the vibration and sound were unbeleviable. I figured that something in the motor must have broken or something was caught somewhere. Could not find anything lodged in the unit. No problem I new that it was under warrenty right? Well kinda, hence the fine print about all I had to pay was another S&H ($50). Sorry but that was just not going to happen. Hope this review keeps at least one person from buying one of these pieces of crap. Made in the USA? (shame on you) I'll stick with the $40 Eureka's that Walmart sales.

Just received it today and really wished I hadn't ordered it. It's great on bare floors but poor on carpets. Certainly not worth the $350 I paid for it. This will be going back, regardless of the cost. If for nothing else, to just basically drive a point to the company that their vacuums are not worth the hype. I wish I had read these reviews prior to ordering my vacuum. I do like the steam cleaner though. But when I think about it, its not worth the $100 or so that I will loose in the end. I was expecting a great vacuum and basically got a poor product..... :(

I just received my vacume and all the extras plus the steam mop. Boy did I WASTE MY MONEY! I was shocked when I saw the shipping charge. It is so loud I would compare it with my Kirby. It has no power! The steam mop works intermittenly.I just called customer service and complained. They agreed to refund me $50 of the shipping and handling I'll donate the product to a worthy cause. I guess it is better than nothing. I also told them I was filing a report with the Better Business Bureau. I asked if I went on line if I would find other complaints and they said I would not. I now know they were very wrong. I should have looked first.

I got mine last week and I hate it. Yes it is very lightweight, but is made of thin plastics, the motor is loud, loud, loud, it doesn't have much suction power, had to make several passes over carpeting to pick up part of a pecan shell. Extremely disappointed in the steam vac. Had to run it over the same sticky spot of syrup on my laminate floor again and again, after the floor had been mopped a few hours earlier. Kids. I'm repacking both for return, tomorrow.

I never, never purchase products pitched on infomercials, but getting a high powered vacuum for only $200 which compares to a $600 competitor, I took the plunge.
Actually I paid the additional $59 for the upgraded Platinum Pro vac. Yes this is an absolutely BRILLIANT marketing scheme to sell a substandard Chinese made vacuum. They are coming in shipments by the thousands. There's a great money making opportunity to be made here. My Platinum Pro gave up on the first day of regular household vacuuming. I called Customer service. Your call is transfered to a boiler room in India. You may wait as long as 30 minutes to get a rep. Disconnects are frequent. Return policy is no questions asked. I was waltzed through the 20 questions game first. After a bit of a fight I was promised a new replacement. I received a refurbished vacuum as a replacement. It's a different model number. Again I have only myself to blame. I really believed I was getting a $600 cleaner for $200 bucks. I am to blame for being a SUCKER. Save yourself the anxiety, purchase something else from a reputable retailer. I got sucked in

I refuse to pay for the shipping costs of a new one....makes you wonder the LIFETIME guarantee...Such a scam because they know the product is a piece of JUNK and they get the people on the shipping costs....BUYERS beware do not buy this it's JUNK!!!

Do not buy this vacuum. It performs horribly, and sure, they will replace it, but why would you want to pay another $50 to replace a piece of crap that didn't even work in the first place, before the motor quit? I just wish I would have looked at these other reviews before I purchased this one.

The vacuum we purchased was used for only two months (after waiting one month to receive it - with only one bag included), and something inside broke with a loud sound. Large and small pieces of white plastic began falling out, and the engine would no longer work. After several calls to their customer service, no one returns the calls and nothing will be done.

Hi Amy,
Like you, I love my Garry vacuum cleaner. I too have mostly hardwood floors and area rugs. It does slow down a little when used on carpets, but I am satisfied with it. I have a cat, and it is great at removing cat hair from the rugs, and with the attachment removes the cat hair from the furniture with no problem. I don't think it is any noisier than any other vacuum and actually quieter than some. The Garry is a replacement for my Bissell upright which is a piece of junk. You have to remove the motor unit to use the hose and attachments and the handle keeps coming loose. I think a lot of the people that are replying on here are the real scammers. My friend has had her Garry for almost a year now, and hasn't had one problem with it. I can't tell people what to buy and what not to buy, but frankly i think the Dyson is a scam for the price they want for it. I hope this review helps people. Garry vacuum

I just LOVE my Garry Vacuum... It does exactly what it says it will.. I am not sure how other people use their vacuums, but I use mine at least 3 times a week gets great in corners and picks up fabulously... I have to say I was not very impressed with the free steam mop that came with it. It was okay, but would only recommend the vacuum..

DO NOT BUY THIS VACUUM!!!!!!!
I totally agree this vacuum is a piece of crap! I bought mine in Sept. The first one lasted about 6 months. I called to get a replacement, had to pay shipping which really irritated me....how is it a free replacement if you have to pay for shipping? Now the 2nd one just broke...same thing as the first one. A plastic piece inside broke off, got sucked into the vacuum and then it started making a really loud noise and smoking. I called to get my money back this time and they refused. You can only do that in the first 30 days. So, the only option was to get another one and this time was told it would be $50 shipping to get it and I have to pay about $35 to ship the old one back. So, for $85, I could get my FREE replacement for a piece of junk that doesn't even work. I think I will just go buy the Dyson I wanted to begin with and never buy anything off an infomercial again. I received the vacuum yesterday and it is very cheaply constructed. It does a terrible job on carpets and wool area rugs. I live with a pilot and he has taught me a lot about noises that will destroy your hearing. You will need to wear hearing protection when you use the vacuum because of the loud, high pitched motor noise. I'm sending this product (made in China) back to the company. I should have known better than to fall for the infomercial.

The honest Bob guy harped on the fact that there are NO adjustments or things to assemble or reset when you go from one kind of surface to the other.
If only that was the worst thing about the product. 1. defective design that does not isolate the debris from the fan blade. This assures destruction of the blade. 2. deceptive marketing 3. hidden conditions to prevent legal recourse. Mary, please... QUIT YOUR JOB, if you have a soul at all. I was thinking abut buying one, but after viewing all the dissatisfied customers , NO WAY! How sad that this company is scamming the public and not reimbursing the shipping costs if the customer is unhappy. I work for the Garry company. I am sorry that you are not going to try the Garry because of what has been written on the internet. You are only seeing half the picture, customers that are happy tend to not post on sites. It is advertised that s/p is nonrefundable in our infomercial, manual and website. However, a supervisor can approve the refund for s/p on an individual basis. If you have any questions regarding the Garry you can email me at marya@garryvac.com. Thank you. Mary 1269605858

Marya,
I admire your relentless pursuit for your company, but you can't fight the numbers. The amount of unhappy customers on here supremely outweighs the amount of happy ones. And a few of your comments are incorrect. I ALWAYS look to the internet before making a purchase and NEVER have been let down. There are many products out there that have great reviews from happy customers. So to say that unhappy consumers are the only ones who post is incorrect. And also an Investigation was done on the BBB and they did show that an "A" rating could be bought. So not much faith there. I'll keep looking to my fellow consumers for the best advice. But by all means keep up the good work of trying to make up for your company's unworthy product. I although will not be someone you'll need to contact, because THANKS to the overwhelming numbers I will not be making the mistake of purchasing this product. My heart goes out to those who have. Sincerely, Shari 1269605858

Mary please get off this site! this isn't for customer service, this is for a true review of your bad product! you claim only people come onto websites just to complain and your not seeing the whole picture" that's FAR from the truth. I ALWAYS look at websites before i buy products and get an honest review (positive and negative), this site has VERY few positives, which tells me it accurately reflects customer's opinion. Also the fact taht you will return shipping on an individual basis is a scam for your company to get the most money out of the customer. GET OFF THE SITE, THIS IS FOR PEOPLE TO GIVE OPINIONS. NOT PROVIDE CUSTOMER SERVICE!

Debbie- I just might try emailing Mary as you suggest as I have 2 Garry vacuums to RETURN. My mom bought hers first & it lasted 4 months to the day. I upgraded & mine lasted 6 months. Same plastic piece broke inside. If Garry could make that piece more durable they might just have a halfway decent vacuum but then they wouldn't be making any money off of us if we didn't have to return the vacuums.

Marya, Ok lets give this a try. I cannot work with customer service they are all liars and don’t care. You can’t understand them and they don’t return calls. Foreign customer service sucks. If you are what you claim, Send me a new vac, not refurbished, at no charge and no shipping. If you want this piece of crap back send me a free shipping label. Or just send me a refund. I have little hope you will fix the problem, but here is your chance If I get no response, I will post on all the blogs, file a complaint with the attorney general state of Kansas, and the attorney general for the United States. I have tried to work with customer service, they hang up on you, they lie, and they never call you back. Lot Number is 4100030-4K We have also purchase extra bags which I can’t use because the vacumn does not work. I unfortunately purchased this Vac from HSN.COM. They will not help and just pass the buck. Here is your chance to make this right. One very unhappy pissed off customer. bad vacumn garry

Guess what?....I use to work for the Garry Vacuum Company. Over half of the people that buy the Garry Vacuum want to return it. I worked in the Customer Service Department with six other full time employees. My phone rang non-stop for 8 hours! I told my manager that they needed to hire at least 6 more people to keep up with all the complaints. I finally quit after 6 months!!! I beg you DO NOT BUY THIS PRODUCT!!! I promise that you will be greatly disappointed!!!

Mark T,
Thanks for posting the Consumer Reports video. After reading all of these negative reviews regarding shoddy workmanship and bad customer service I was not going to take a chance on the Garry Vacuum anyway. But seeing a non-biased consumer protection group like CR evaluate its cleaning ability as last out of 40 vacuums tested just puts the nail in the coffin. Less than 19 hours after placing order I called to cancel.I Was told it was too late and I would have to refuse it at my door when delivered.
I placed an order on May 30 at 5:50pm. I called to cancel on May 31 at 1:50 pm after reviewing complaints on this product. I was told it was too late to cancel and my credit card has already "made payment" and the order was being processed in shipping department while in the same conversation I was told it was on back order and plan on seeing it in 3 weeks. At this point the customer service agent told me I must refuse the package at my door when it arrives. I called my credit card company and they told me the payment was not authorized yet and I asked them to flag this transaction. I plan on disputing this but apparently they cannot open a dispute claim until payment has been made. I just want to have this transaction cancelled but the this company seems to only be concerned with getting their hands on your credit card information as fast as possible and send out defective product. Again, I called to cancel this order 19 hours after making the first call. Above is a copy of the complaint I filed this morning with the BBB of Southland CA regarding this company. Made in China

The problem here is that these vacuum "cleaners" are made in China. I work at a vacuum repair shop and I can tell you that the quality control of Chinese manufacturers is terrible. The companies that import this crap actually negotiate the failure rate of the product before they are even manufactured. Thus you can draw a logical conclusion that the lower the retail price the higher number of units will be expected to fail. Since they have payed for the failed units ahead of time, they will naturally make it next to impossible to return the product as to maximize their profits. This is just the nature of the business. Orecks are made in America, and to the best of my knowledge Dysons are still made in Germany. Just get an Oreck, if nothing else your money will keep Americans employed. They have been using basically the same design for over 30 years and are used in almost every hotel/motel that should tell you something right there.

I am very surprised to see the negative reviews. I don't know about the shipping since I received this vacuum as a gift. But I was SHOCKED to see how this vacuum out performed my KIRBY! I have to say the Kirby is superior on the hose suction. But the Garry noticably superior on my rug! Even all my children have noticed AND are far more cooperative to vacuum as the design and ease of use of this vacuum make it much more mangeable and enjoyable than my Kirby. My $1000 Kirby has been collecting dust while we have been using this on every floor of my house. (my original plan was to have one on one level one on the other alternate with the cellar) But its no problem to carry this all over. Even for my youngest children. I have fair knowledge of different vacuums and performances and i give the Garry 5 stars for sure! (maybe looses half a star for the lesser hose suction.,) but far makes up for it everywhere else! Now my mother wants my Garry. Her vacuum broke, and she needs one. I hate to give it up!! (I may have to hide it)

This is by far the worst cleaner I have ever purchased! I can't believe with all the negative reviews that the attorney general has done forced this rip off company out of business. The vacuum cleaner does not have any suction and the so-called free steamer's handle broke in half. The company does not stand behind their product, you can't talk to an English speaking person when you call customer service and the supervisors refuse to talk with customers.
Please do not waste your time or money buying this pile of junk. I am going to put it out in the garbage warning people not to take the time or energy to pick it up. The company is filled with rip-off artists and should be forced out of business. Garry Vacuum Cleaner

Today I planned to buy a Gary Vac but after reading the numerous negative reviews, I will not buy a Gary! How horrible that all these people got ripped off! By the way, total shipping charges amount to almost $80.00 if you purchase the vac ($39.95) + the FREE steam mop($29.95), and the (8) FREE vac bags($9.99)...there's nothing FREE about this offer. How could a company charge $80.00 in s/p fees? It's ridiculous!! The markup for s/p is well over 100%...shame on them!. I hope they go out of business.

Because of no adjustment for thick or high carpets the belts break prematurely. The web site offers one "free" belt but with $ 4.95 shipping for each it is not free; is it? In fact with the shipping charges these supplies are more expensive than at my neighborhood store for Hoover and similar products.
I ordered three belts (thinking it might be more efficient in quantity. (Ans. NO) on-line with some difficulty then there was NO SUMMARY of charges in "my cart". The charges could not be seen before or after my purchase. But what to do... the Garry, as any vacuum, is worthless without the drive belt. I called customer service to inquire and the charge will be the $15.00 and the rep said that "after I receive the shipment I "can call to receive a $4.95 refund" for my free one. Say what?? This is not a legitimate nor honest way to do business. I do not recommend this product. Review

I have had my unit for about 4 months and it stopped working. Called the customer service department about the problem. Yes they will send me a new unit. For $50 and the promise that I will send the old one back at my expense. Another $20 bucks. Wow, great warranty. I hope this next one last longer that 4 months or I might get a little wary this might be a scam. It did work great up to the point it broke. Are there issues with the longevity of th eunit?

Just received my vacuum and found it to have been previously used with marks on it. I ordered 1 vacuum 1 steam mop and 2 packages of bags. What arrived was 1 used vacuum 4 steam mops and no bags. I used the steam mop and had to dry the hardwood floor with a towel. I used the vacuum and found that my $20 swiffer works better. After reading the responses I don't understand how this company can still be in business. I will be sending ths pile of junk back. I will make sure that the BBB and the state general will hear from me. DON'T BUY THIS JUNK

Total piece of crap - under normal use burned out in four months - all these negative reviews are right on as far as I'm concerned based on my personal experience - don't buy or prepare to be dissappointed - big time! Back to using my old Kenmore although it's 10 yrs old it still does a better job than the Garry ever did.

I usually head to the Internet when I see something on the TV or thru other means and make sure the reviews line up before I make a purchase. Man am I glad I saw this and the CR site.
Thank you, thank you, thank you, thank you for posting about this product. Especially the person that used to work for Garry. The wife and I saw the infomercial and thought this looked viable. Wow, were we wrong. Im so glad that I am in the practice of looking up reviews before I buy. Mary, why on earth do ppl have to come here to get help? If a company stands behind their product why do they have to jump thru imaginary hoops to get service that never comes? Yet they can get help from you on an obscure review site? Very odd. Now, I know folks tend to exaggerate when it comes to bad reviews, but I have yet to see that here. I see 95% to 5% of negative reviews. I do realize that most that like their product dont post, but my word how can you defend the shipping costs? Seriously... how? Its an exorbitant amount for a "9 lbs" product. I think I will stick with my Dyson and just move the furniture, which are on those plastic movers, so its not that bad. The Dyson works fine and has never been broken for 5 years strong. And I love that part where they dump the Dyson above the container... no idiot is that stupid to empty the container that way. You put it into the can, which we do in our outside can, and open it. No bags needed, no dust around the house. But alas, this isnt a hark on a Dyson, we are in the market for an upstairs vac and will most likely get either a Orek or the smaller ball sized Dyson. Both are proven to be reliable with no hidden agenda on hidden costs or lame CS from India. Sorry for those that didnt read the reviews, but I thank you for posting your views on the Garry. You saved my wife and I a lot of hassle and money which we dont have a lot of. Thanks again. Thank you Reviewers.

Love my Dyson! Bought it 5 or 6 years ago and other then cleaning out the rotating brushes with the various strings and such that get caught up in it, it works and still has the suction like it was brand new! After watching the commercial for the GARRY (like what does the GARRY stand for?) I almost fell for it...after reading these posts...NO WAY! Thanks Mr. Dyson for a fantastic vacuum!!

I'm glad I read these reviews. I was almost taken in by this infomercial. Now that I see how many problems there are with it, I would never buy it. It seems that things sold on TV aren't always what they seem. Some of them eventually end up in stores. I figure if you buy it in the store you have the opportunity of looking at it first. I would never buy this vacuum now.

I got a garry as a gift from my dad, i had it a year the vacuum is so loud it hurts my ears, the handle does not stand up and when it falls over the vacuum will shut off. My arm hurts when i get done its so hard to push on the carpet (no adjustment) then parts started to fall off it and a week later the motor stopped. I called Customer service of course they are in India and when you ask them a question they just keep repeating the same thing over again. Shawn was his name,(yeah right) said it would be $50 shipping and then just go to the post office and get a tracking # that would mean paying for more shipping right? Then i was told If the old Garry was not returned to their site in CA within 30 days there would be a penalty of $150.00!! has any one else heard that? why do i get penalized if the post office is slow and we all know how reliable USPS is. WHAT TO DO? Now im out of a vacuum cleaner that is horrible. DONT BUY ONE worst i have ever had. and the penalty is no where on their web site or mentioned on the phone. That is how my dad ordered it. I told them i would send them a check for $50 they said the dont accept checks only credit cards for returns. I bet that is so they can help themselves when it arrives late!!!
From now one Im going to local store to buy anything!! garry vacuum

I was able to cancel my order before it was processed, I was told they couldn't have done that if I had called and hour later I called the 888# for customer service on a Monday morning at 7:00am pst I was relieved but I am still watching the credit card for charges. When asked why I was canceling my order I told them I had buyers remorse and should not have bought it, she told me when I was ready to buy to call back with a better deal on the vacume, I figured the Garry company has made a few thousand of these vacs and they refirbish them and just keep sending them out when they tear up and break down. I have learned a lesson yet again, What happen to the time when a hand shake was all that was needed? And you could trust a business for its word?

Ok i saw the infomerical last night, I got up and made the call, ordered the Garry,by the way when they get done with all the top of the line must have extras and the shipping for those it cost $414.98. I got up this morning Sunday, Well then I decided to check for reviews so I guess you can say I'm having the worst case of buyers remorse I have ever had. So here it goes just after 8 hrs of making the purchase have tried to cancel the order it is Sunday so I can't call the bank to stop the payment and the customer service # for Garry is no good on Sunday so I plan to make the call first thing Monday morning to cancel and tell them not to ship the Garry we will see but if these reviews are an indication of what i should expect I'm not feeling very good that I can get my money back if this transaction has taken place alreay, by the way I have canceled the card but at this point I don't know if I'm out the money or not, I will be back to comment on how I was treated. I have learned to check reviews first before you buy.

Don't buy this piece of crap vacuum. I have had mine for a little over a year and a big piece of plastic in the motor broke. They make it with plastic parts inside the motor. What a bunch of idiots. Or they know it will break real soon and don't give a darn because buy than they have your money. And this part about us giving them $50 upfront and than put the old broken vacuum in the box you received with the "new" one and than YOU have to pay to send the broken down piece of crap back to them. I am glad of sites like this. Even IF some of the reviews are bias, this one is almost 100% negative. I almost ordered one a few minutes ago, but all these reviews will change one's mind. GarryVac, you need to do something about your product first. Not customer service as your primary purpose in business. There won't be customers to service after you get at least 50% of what you sold. Unless the cost of goods is less than the $70 charged for shipping, which customers are complaining about.
Fortunately for us, there are other manufacturers. So consumers decide. Perfect Vacuum

The Garry is perfect. It's a very simple vacuum to use. When buying, make sure to get the upgraded motor for more power. It seems to clean the air in the room as you're vacuuming as well. I guess that's thanks to the type of bags it uses. The bags aren't completly free. It costs about $12 for S&H on an 8ct order, but $12 is still a good price for those bags. This was the first time buying from "As seen on TV" and I'd say it was a success. We're very pleased with the Garry.

Hi Mary,
I am just wondering how many consumers you have actually helped and have noticed no one has ever posted a comment either way. My advice to you is that at some point you need to walk out from behind the computer and your email and pick up the phone. I feel if you really cared about the consumer you would actually give out your direct phone number to these people and help them personally. Emails were not made to do what you do with them. They are impersonal and do not get the job done. Think of how many of these issues you could handle in a fraction of the time versus emailing a conversation back and forth, back and forth. Step up to the plate Mary and do it the old fashioned way and be done with it. I would never ever put my customers through this ordeal. Not professional what so ever. If I receive an email from a customer with an issue I immediately pick up the phone and resolve it with them. Believe it or not, they like that. I do not put them through the customer service agents bull crap that Garry Vac has to offer. That is all I have to say about this issue. So take my advice and do it the old fashioned way. Return

Alright people. I have owned my Garry Vac for almost 2 years and have loved it. However, yesterday the suction went out of it. No broken belt not plugged up, nothing. After 3 calls and being lied to and put on hold for a supervisor for 10 minutes 38 seconds. I hung up a called again. You do not want the rath of Dawn believe me. I got a supervisor on the phone (his name is Neo Carter extension 2783.) I am paying the $50 replacement charge and getting a postage paid label from them to return the other vacuum. You get pissed long enough and threaten them with legal problems you get results. As with many things now a days you have to pay shipping in most cases so I can accept that but got the return for free.
As you can see I put a little information in this response for you all to get some relief from your issues at hand. I wish you all luck and he is a very great person to work with. Stay away from the customer service agents and you will get results. They are fly by night who don't have a clue. The only drawback is that you still have to dial the customer service number to get to the supervisor. Don't let them push you around and don't let them tell you they are in meetings. Tell them you don't care what they have to do and better make it work. They will respond. I was on hold for about 2 minutes for the supervisor so dig way down deep to find a little more patience. It is hard but if I can do it anyone can. Happy days everyone!!! Dawn GARRY VACUUM

Boy was I sold a bill of goods by the TV sales pitch! At the end of the first six months I had to return my vacuum and was sent a new one. Now at the end of a year my vaccum stopped working and pieces of plastic from inside the vacuum fell out. They broke off from somewhere inside. This is the worst vaccum I have owned in 50 years!

Love this VAC! But, agree, there are some "scammy" things about it. I am on my 2nd one, (I know sounds ridiculous, but it is AMAZING when it works!) and they tried to get me with shipping on the first, but being it was within 30 days, I had a fit, and they took care of that. The hose falling out of where it should be is a real pain while vacumming, but I deal with it, because I really do like it. As for free bags, NO - nothing free about them, its $9.99 at least to have them shipped, just like the FREE steam mop, not freeyou must pay for shipping. I wrote to the rep who frequents this site about my 2nd return and to see what can be done about the company rightfully paying for their defective machines. I will post later.
But HONESTLY, I have a residential cleaning biz, and have used every vac out there, this one really is the best, cutting my time in half, clients noticing a difference and light weight. Will post back what happens with my issue :) re: garry vacuum

I also appreciate the reviews. I have been debating about getting one-was told the folks that started this company used to work for Oreck. I have owned 3 Orecks and the biggest problem for me is not having the on board tools-other than that they have been good vacuums and I love the weight! I have dogs too and the tools are so handy. Are you listening Oreck???
don't buy

the reason this has a lifetime warranty is because you need it !!
I have gone thru 2 of these things and then the cost of the free bags is crazy!! and of course you get a refurbish one not a new one!! They get you on the return it's $50.00 that's bs!! DON'T BUY DON'T BUY NO NO NO!! garry ultralight

The Garry vacuum cleaner is not a good quality vacuum cleaner. Mine broke in less than a year. I paid $50 to have a new one shipped and over $20 to ship the broken one back. The second one also broke before a year's time. Customer service was of no help. They will not give out any company info. They say that customers may only speak with customer service.
*sigh* I'm off to buy a new vacuum

I've had my Garry for about 2 years, my mom bought it for me for Christmas. I was just vacuuming my car and it made a horrible crunching noise and stopped working, and I can no longer switch it from floor to tools. I was able to unscrew the "pole" part of it and turn it upside down and some plastic fell out. I tried calling the customer service, my wait time was 1 min and 9 seconds. 10 minutes later I was still waiting. So I tried the live chat thing on the website, and the lady told me to try calling again, asked what the problem was (an automated response system I'm sure.), and told me to try calling again. So I called back and while I was on hold I typed to the lady and asked her how much it would be to get a replacement, and she told me the person at customer service would be able to tell me. I said "If I ever get a person, I am holding again." To which she replied, "Thank you for visiting our website, have a good day" or something like that, and I was not able to type back! So I finally get a person who barely speaks English. She is unable to pull my account up, so she told me to call back in a half hour. Umm.. really? And that is going to help how? After reading these reviews, with the cost of sending it back, I think I'm just going to buy a vacuum fro Walmart :/

FOLKS SAVE YOUR MONEY!!! This product is not worth buying, it is Junk. It's sooo bad that I paid to list this company on Angie's. List. Infomercial is a total scam,Orec and Dyson should Sue. This is a typical made in China plastic piece of junk. Buyers Beware ......
