Peticure Nail Trimmer

The Peticure is a nail trimmer for dogs much like the Pedipaws trimmer. I would assume it would do cats too but they are not shown in the infomercial.  I own the Peticure. I have 2 very small Chihuahuas and I was afraid to cut their nails too short. When I did, they remembered it.

I was skeptical about the product. I asked an emergency vet client of mine what she thought of the Peticure trimmer. She was skeptical too. The Peticure came with a recharger and a set of what is essentially replacement grinding replacements. The Peticure is essentially a Dremel tool with a sandpaper sanding wheel on the end, but much quieter.

The Peticure really does work. It has a safety guard on the end with holes for different sized nails so that you do not make any more contact with the dog's feet or toes than you need too. I can be a bit slow in taking away the nail, but if you use it regularly, the nails will stay trimmed. You may want to trim your dogs nails a little if they are really long to save some time.

Your dog will get more comfortable with the Peticure with a little training. Giving your dog treats while introducing the trimmer to them will make it a whole lot easier. I even got to the point with my dog where when they saw or heard the trimmer they were looking for a snack. I still periodically use traditional dog trimmers when I get behind on the filing, so it does not have to be an all or nothing kind of thing. The Pedicure can even file the uneven toenails after using regular nail clippers.
